The Femme Oasis: How do you identify yourself (gender and gender performance)?
Tiffany: I am a BEAUTIFUL BLACK WOMAN!!!
TFO: What is your current occupation?
T: I currently am a psychology major full time student. I will be attending University of Hawaii at Manoa in the fall. #GoBOWS!!!
TFO: What do you do as a hobby?
T: I like to just chill and have a good time. I also like to do Youtube. Me and my husband have a channel and I also just started my own channel. My favorite part of Youtube is doing my 1 Minute of Encouragements. It does not matter if I only get three views I know I touched three people.
TFO: What are some organizations you’re involved in?
T: I am not involved in any organizations right now but I will probably join the psychology club at school. I’m hoping to join some other things and try something new since I’m in Hawaii
TFO: What is your dream job?
T: My dream job is to be a marriage and family counselor. I also know I want to be able to encourage people and bring positivity to people’s lives. I am not sure how that will come into play but I know it will.
TFO: What are the three major stressors in your life?
T: Three major stressors in my life are school of course, me worrying about my success and my relationships with people.
TFO: How do you cope with your stresses (if at all)?
T: These days you can catch me at the beach journaling. Also just being a positive light for other people helps me destress.
TFO: Do you have goals you set for your life overall?
T: Of course! I have long term goals and I also have goals that I set for myself every few months. No matter how big or small they are I always try to accomplish them.
TFO: What is your process in achieving these goals?
T: I TRUST MY PROCESS, and I BELIEVE IN MYSELF. I know a lot of times I am impatient when it comes to things but I have learned that when the time is right things will happen. I just have to trust my process.
TFO: What is your daily mantra (if you have one)?
T: In my phone I have reminders set up at different times that tell me to keep my head up, I am beautiful, and any goals that I can achieve, this is small stuff to a giant.
TFO: Are you happy where you are in life?
T: Yes I am. I am happy because I know that I am in a better place than I was a year ago or even a day ago and I am thankful for that.
TFO: Are you on a path you feel is right for you?
T: I definitely think I am on a path that is going to lead me to where I want to be in life. I know I will have a few bumps in the road but that is what life is all about.
TFO: Do you feel confused or pressure to figure out if you are on the right path?
T: There is always pressure because I think anybody would want to know if they were making the right decisions in life but I am learning to trust my process. Trust that I know I will be good in the end.
TFO: What are some pressures of society you wish didn’t exist?
T: I wish everybody could just be them. I wish that we did not live in a world where if you aren’t doing what everybody else is doing you are not considered “cool.” I also wish people we not so sensitive. If we could take constructive criticism better we as a whole would be powerful.
TFO: What would be one thing you don’t have but you want at this very moment (it can be tangible or intangible)?
T: Money of course. I have a lot of ideas but you always have to spend money to make money. That’s just life.
TFO: What do you do for self-care (if anything)?
T: I love face masks :) They just calm me. I also journal to just write my thoughts out. It helps to get them out on paper.
TFO: What is something you do well that you can offer society?
T: My positivity. No matter what you’re going through in life you can always use a little bit of encouragement. I am that person.
